Modern Age PR & Marketing

Image
PR & Marketing goes hand-in-hand, it is the essence of a company’s positioning and revenue growth… The question many experts are asking today, does the old methods of marketing works in the current business environment???   I’m not an expert award winning marketing consultant, but here’s my take on this… Just like how technology has evolved tremendously, so has the PR and Marketing approach…   Take this for example, 10 years ago, the internet was the least preferred medium for advertisers, but today, every organisation (Fortune 100) has a budget allocated for online ads.   Online Social Networking sites (Facebook, Friendster, MySpace), IM (Live Messenger, Yahoo etc) and Blogs (Google Ads, Nuffnang etc) are among the mediums that are leveraged in the modern business environment… read: Time Spent on Facebook up 700%, but MySpace Still Tops for Video   Why? Because that is where the majority of audiences are… Think of this, when was the last you visited Celcom website

Happy Father’s Day Dad

Image
The year was 1947, a young man travelled to a foreign land, leaving his family behind in pursuit of better life abroad. As he stepped onto a foreign soil, all alone and with only one objective to be successful in life and make his father and mother proud.   He toiled, struggled and worked really hard to reach his goals. Sleepless nights, at times, in hunger and only diet of plain water to save money so that he can start his business. It was a condition that could have driven many to just give up but not this man.   After years of struggle, he started his own business, with the only partner, his wife. He would go outstation in his Toyota 700 and the wife held the responsibility of the house at daytime and when he returns from his trip with orders they would stay up till late night packing the goods to be delivered.   Bit by bit, with perseverance and determination, they got their own business premise and with the vision of having their children continuing the legacy, the

Extraordinary Luncheon

Image
Well, it was an awesome day nevertheless, the roundtable session with 30 state representatives with Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew was rescheduled to after luncheon as they were delayed in meeting earlier.   The luncheon was regal nonetheless but the security details for the event was definitely top notched. Firearms and explosives aside, even any frequency transmitting devices (mobiles/radio) and image capturing devices (handycam/digicam) were not granted audience.   Halfway thru the luncheon, MM Lee Kuan Yew delivered his speech to the audience. A speech that was short and precise, about 20 minutes but yet at the end, it made the listener wanting more!!!   True, like I mentioned on my facebook stat, you actually haven’t lived a life if you never had the opportunity to hear Dr M and MM Lee Kuan Yew addressing a live crowd!!! Two fine gentlemen who are able to capture their audience attention and deliver their message with rhetorics and sheer genius!!!   Just like Dr M,

King’s Conference to Address PPSMI…

Saw on the news today, that they are seeking the King’s Council to evoke a by-law that will invalidate the teaching of science and math subjects in English for schools in Malaysia!!!   Their argument is that rural children are not able to comprehend with English education due to language barrier! The rural children are accustomed to Bahasa Malaysia thus they face difficulty in excelling in their studies…   This is the most ridicolous and absurd excuse. What the government envisioned when coming up with this was to prepare students for their future overseas studies opportunities. English IS a global language and missing out on it means barrier for global approach.   So are we saying that we would like to remain where we are today, 10 years, 100 years and 1000 years ahead??? Someone stop this stupidity and stop it fast before we put a block to future’s progress!!!

Is Your Partner Embarrassed Being With You?

Saw a question posted by someone on AskMen.com to Dr Love about his girl who is comfortable with PDA (Public Display of Affection) when in public but when it is in some domains such as friends etc, she holds it back… So what does it actually mean???   I have dealt with a scenario where my friend was browsing his gf’s profile online with her being beside him on the bed… and one pic that caught his attention was a picture labelled ‘the good memories’… she apologised but it made him wonder, probably she did loved that guy wholeheartedly that even when she said my friend is her life, she still held on to the past and it haunted him forever that he could never be loved the same way, which turn out true as she mentioned to him…   Another guy friend of mine, hid his relationship status with his girlfriend from the public domain because he was embarrassed of acknowledging the gal as his gf… she saw one of the inbox message in which another hot gal actually questioned him on why is he b
